Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College, is an institute of Standard Medical Education in Bangladesh established in 1995. The campus of the college is located, 9 KM from The Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, at Konia of Gazipur City (near Board bazar), the medical college, including the hospital, stands on the Dhaka-Mymensingh highway-just outside the capital city.

Tairunnessa Memorial Medical College Hospital, with 500 bedded multidisciplinary hospital complex – has been recognized nationally and internationally as a center of excellence for heart diseases and research. TMMC Hospital is the teaching hospital of the college. It has already earned national and international reputation as a center of excellence for medical services and research.
Hospital:
The hospital is housed in two large buildings – one is 6 storied and the other is 6 storied. The 12- storied building accommodates the medical college, while the 6 storied building is for outpatient services, intensive care unit and modern super-specialized cardiac center. The indoor and outdoor facilities go a long way in meeting the ever-increasing demand of the patients.
Patients, coming from the remote corners of Bangladesh, are attended to at the outpatient departments daily. Besides patients with heart ailments at outpatient services are in-built with the in-patient services of other departments like medicine, pediatrics, special baby care unit, skin diseases, surgery, orthopedics, obstetrics and gynecology. The in-patient departments have a total of 500 beds of which over 30 (number is flexible) are free.

The college offers a 5-year MBBS course, as approved by Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council, leading to an MBBS degree from the University of Dhaka. The academic session shall be from July to June each year.

Candidates who have passed SSC Examination in any group and HSC Examination in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from any recognized Board or University of Bangladesh and obtained a minimum of 1300 marks (without any 3rd Division) and with pass marks in Biology are eligible to apply. Those who have passed ‘0’ and ‘A’ level examinations and have equivalent marks are also eligible.
Students who have spent two years after their HSC, A-Level or equivalent examination need not apply.
Shamsul Haque Building, Total no of seats are around 200. There is a Boys hostel opposite the College building which has five floors and a total number of rooms. Around 200 students can be accommodated here also.
Lima Girls Hostel is situated adjacent to the college building. It is a storied building with 50 rooms. Where 155 girls are residing. Besides there are 48 more rooms in the admin building for foreign girls.
