The Nepalese Army Institute of Health Sciences was established in 1922. It is a non-profit  institution and is aided by the Nepal Army. This institution was built on the purpose to improve  patients’ health care system with the help of Nepal Army. This idea arose after the First World War  when many people were injured very badly. This was built after the martyred soldiers.   There are different colleges under this institution like the College of Medicine, Dental College etc.  This institution is situated in Bhandarkhal, Nepal. It provides courses like MBBS, BDS, MD, MS,  BNS Nursing. Entrance into this institution is totally merit based. Students need to take the  admission test conducted by Tribhuvan University.   The doctors are placed in their interested specializations within a short period of time under proper  guidance from the faculty of Nepal Army Institute of Health Sciences. In NAIHS 10 students are  provided financial aid in the form of scholarships. They are recommended by the Ministry of  Education. A few more seats are also eligible for scholarships under laid down criteria by Nepal  Army Institute of Health Sciences.
